This spring Mohammed lived with my partner and I for three months. Mohammed is from Gaza and we have since then helped him support his family who are stuck there. His immediate family that we are now supporting with funds is his girlfriend Amaan and her two children (7 and 11), and his brother Mahmoud, his wife and three children.

As you know, the situation now is unbearable. A kg of flour can shift between $100-$400 and vegetables and fruits are even more expensive. On top of that cash vendors take a 40% cut on all cash, which means that the money we have collected the past months has quickly run out. Donations help.

Mohammed’s brother, Mahmoud, was attacked by a missile last year. His life was spared but his friends that he was with died. Mohammed has since then been immobile. The private hospital says that they can do a bonegrafting surgery for him to regain mobility. This is crucial for Mahmoud who wants to help his wife and support his three children. The surgery costs $1500.
